Along with an armed ranger, you will learn how to follow spoor and track an abundance of wildlife using all your senses. Your expert guide will share his bush knowledge with you as you search high and low for insects, plants and birds as you learn how important even the smallest insect is in this intangible environment.
An opportunity to witness chimpanzees awaits at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. This sanctuary was formed as a refuge to orphaned and confiscated chimpanzees, and is the only place in Kenya where non-indigenous chimps can be seen. Watch as these wonderful creatures are taken care of by the conservancy. The Porini Rhino Camp guests enjoy priority access to the sanctuary so that you can view the chimps early before other visitors arrive.
Visit the endangered species boma, meet and learn more about the highly endangered Northern white rhinos. With only three left in the world, you can have a very unique opportunity to see these majestic animals up close. The boma also has six Southern white rhinos, black rhinos, Grevy’s zebras and Jackson’s hartebeest.
Lion Tracking is a novel way to support conservation, and learn more about lions. Set out in the early morning by vehicle and track the collared lions movements and activities. All the information collected is passed onto the Ol Pejeta Ecological Monitoring Department.
