This Masai Mara lodge is situated 298 kilometres (185 miles) from Nairobi in the Masai Mara Kenya. The camp is located on a scenic stretch of the Talek River. The camp has its own all weather airstrip Ol Kiombo which is a 45 minute flight from the capital. There are twice daily flights to the camp from Wilson Airport.
The Masai Mara
The Masai Mara is one of the iconic African safari destinations. Its thorn tree studded rolling plains are home to millions of grazers and predators. It is the stage for the annual cycle of the Great Wildebeest and Zebra Migration where the animals restlessly move in a continual search for fresh grazing and water.
The Mara is also home to many other African species such as Elephant, Giraffe, Hippo and Crocodile. It is the traditional homeland of the Maasai tribe. These nomadic pastoralists still live the way they have for centuries, in harmony with the local wildlife. They are known for their jumping dancing, reverence of cattle and striking red dress.
