This 14 Day East Africa Safari Package allows you to discover the best of both Kenya and Tanzania taking in the Masai Mara and Serengeti regions which are home to some of the greatest concentrations and diversity of wildlife on Earth.

Your safari begins in Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, which is a world heritage site and an award-winning model for community conservation. With its gently rolling hills and unspoilt beauty, Lewa offers a trip of a lifetime with its combination of superb game, diverse scenery and conservation education.

Next, it is onto the Masai Mara, staying in the Mara North Conservancy. This is a beautiful private wilderness area bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve. Its combined professional tourism and wildlife management ensures that guests enjoy an exclusive safari experience with exceptional game and at the same time works with the local communities, ensuring that there is a direct benefit to them.

A short hop over the border from Kenya into Tanzania where you stay on a working coffee plantation in Arusha.

Onto the iconic Ngorongoro crater famed for its big five viewing opportunities in an idyllic setting, with its lake fringed in pink flamingos and hippos wallowing in the shallows. From Ngorongoro to the Serengeti proper where the sheer space and limitless African plains dotted with herds of wildebeest and zebra astonish the eye. Finally ending you East African safari tour at Kilimanjaro International Airport, replete with wonders and lasting memories of the African bush.

Day 1: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Laikipia Plateau, Kenya

Your safari begins as you board your flight to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy from Wilson Airport, Nairobi. On arrival at Lewa, you will be met and taken on a short safari drive to your camp. En route as you will pass a large swamp area, much favoured by elephants.

After a buffet lunch, you may embark on an afternoon game drive perhaps in the shaded riverine areas looking for the black rhinos.

Day 2 & 3: Predators and Prey

Wake up to an African dawn, ready for an early morning game drive. You can take a packed breakfast with you and explore the outstanding and plentiful wildlife, including rhino (black and white), elephants, buffalo, the rare Grevy’s zebra and resident predators. In the afternoon, you can take another wonderful game drive with a snow-capped Mount Kenya in the background.

Lewa Conservancy encompasses many habitats, making for an interesting and exciting safari. Visit the Lewa Headquarters and learn more about their efforts to incorporate education and conservation with the local tribes.

In the evenings, sit around the fire with pre-dinner drinks and share your experiences of the day.

Day 4: Masai Mara, Kenya

After breakfast, take a game drive en route to the airstrip, for a flight to the Masai Mara. Upon landing, you will be met by a guide and get a glimpse of the abundant wildlife on the way to the camp. After an al fresco lunch and you have settled in, it will be time for an afternoon game drive. Take some time to sit back and enjoy the spectacular vistas, smells and colours of the African bush.Take part in a safari tradition, stop and watch a spectacular African sunset with a gin and tonic in hand.

Day 5 & 6: Topi’s, Lions and Maasai

Perhaps start the day with a hot air balloon safari (optional at extra cost), which offers one of the most serene and spectacular ways to view the plains. Alternatively, you can go for a guided safari walk, learning about the ecosystem looking for the all important insects and birds. Learn more about the large animals you have been seeing by interpreting their spoor and nocturnal activities. Then walk into a well deserved sumptuous bush breakfast in the shade of the trees.

Or spend a full day exploring the park with both morning and afternoon game drives. A highlight of many East African safaris is learning about African cultures. During one of the drives visit a traditional Maasai village and learn more about their way of life.

Day 7: Arusha, Tanzania

Today you will cross the border into Tanzania. After a short game drive to the airstrip, you will fly back to Wilson Airport and catch a connecting flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Here you will be met and driven to Arusha, where you will spend the night on a working coffee plantation. You can take a guided coffee tour and see how coffee is grown, harvested, dried and produced for your favourite morning pick me up.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

After breakfast take a short drive to the Arusha Airport and board a small aircraft bound for Manyara Airstrip. From Lake Manyara, you will take a drive up to the Ngorongoro crater rim. The road is very scenic, with twists, and turns under a green canopy formed by the ancient trees of the indigenous forest. You will stay in a luxurious lodge, which is the perfect place to relax and take in the outstanding natural beauty of your surrounds.

For the energetic, there is an opportunity to explore the vast grounds of the estate on horseback (at an extra cost). For the romantics, there is an option to indulge in a candlelit bubble bath with sparkling wine and a cheese platter (at extra cost).

Day 9 & 10: Volcanic Craters and Lakes

Following an early morning breakfast, leaving the lodge just as the mist starts to lift and unveil nature's bounty; you will descend into the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. Revel in a full day safari tour, which will certainly be a day to remember. Relish a picnic luncheon served under a canopy of shady trees at a picnic area, surrounded by game and the crater rim beyond. A true feast amongst the beasts.

The following day you can explore Lake Manyara National Park, which is home to a diverse set of landscapes and wildlife. Newly opened in 2017, is a treetop walkway, which takes you on a sky-high adventure through the beautiful forest. You can walk among the treetops and experience nature from a unique perspective.

Day 11: Serengeti National Park , Tanzania

Today on your East Africa, Kenya and Tanzania safari you have the chance to view the scenic road back down from Ngorongoro conservation area, winding your way down to Lake Manyara airstrip, here you will board a short flight to the Serengeti. As you soar above look down at the vast game filled plains.

On landing, a guide will be there to meet you and escort you to the next camp. This camp is perched atop a kopje, affording dramatic views across the Serengeti plains. Here you will have ample time to discover the beauty of the Serengeti over the next two full days.

Day 12 & 13 Wildebeest and Open Plains

If you have forgone the hot air balloon safari in the Mara - it's highly recommended that you consider doing this optional activity in the Serengeti as it is an absolute must during East African safaris. Alternatively, head out on morning and afternoon game drives in the hands of the experienced guides who will help track the animals and tell you about life in the African savannahs.

Day 14: Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

On the final day of your East Africa Safari Package, after breakfast, you will be driven to the airport where you board a flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey arrangements.
