Game Drives
Samburu Shaba Lodge offers twice daily game drives in the Shaba, Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves. They are conducted in specially designed safari vehicles that maximise the game viewing. They are led by an expert local guide who will speak about how animals survive in such an arid region.
Bird watching and Nature Walks
Over 350 species of birds are attracted to the gardens of the Sarova Shaba Lodge making it a great place for avid birders. Set out on a walk with a local naturalist who will tell you about the uses of plants in the area and survival in the bush.
Camel Safari Excursions
Come and experience a safari with a difference on the back of a Camel. Camels have been used as a mode of transport for thousands of years; they are able to go into areas where game drives are not possible, getting close to the wildlife. The Camels are led by a Samburu owner and the excursion is a good opportunity to learn about the unique relationships between the Samburu and their Camels.
Cultural Excursions to a Samburu Village
Set out on an excursion to a traditional Samburu Village. The Samburu are known as the “butterfly people” due to their colourful style of dress and decorative headdress. During the excursion, the Samburu Morans will perform cultural songs and traditional dances for you. A resident expert will speak about the interesting culture and traditions of this tribe.
Weddings and Honeymoons
The Sarova Shaba Game Lodge offers exotic weddings with Samburu flair. The wedding can be held in the lodge grounds and a Samburu elder will bless the marriage. The lodge can undertake all the decorations using traditional Samburu fabrics, beads as well as flowers. They can provide a cake, bush dinner and entertainment by traditional dancers. Be pampered with a mini spa day and photographs. The marriage licence, certificate and registration will also be taken care of.
Conferencing and Meetings
The Sarova Shaba Lodge offers several different meeting and incentive packages such as the team building Sarova Survivor Challenge that offers adventure learning. There is a conference room that has the capacity for 100 delegates. It is equipped with audio visual equipment and secretarial assistance is available.
Games Facilities
The Lodge has Table Tennis facilities, Badminton, Pool and a variety of board games. There is also Water Volleyball on offer.
