Game Drives
Mara Bushtops Camp offers early morning game drives, full day and evening game drives. The early morning game drives usually offer excellent sightings as the wildlife is most active just after the sun rises. Predators also are more active and it is not too hot. The morning drive stops off for tea and coffee before returning to the lodge where a hearty breakfast awaits. The lodge also allows you to book the sole use of a vehicle and a guide to give you the freedom to explore the reserve at your leisure.
Full Day Game drives
A full day game drive heads out at about 08:30. Spend a full day exploring the wide open spaces of the savannah that teem with Zebra and Wildebeest, Giraffe and Elephant. In the middle of the day a refreshing picnic lunch will be served under a shady Acacia tree down by the Mara River where you can watch the antics of the Hippos. Then the adventure will continue. During the Great Migration, the movements of the Wildebeest are tracked to work out where they are likely to cross the River.
Evening Game Drives
The evening game drive leaves around 16:30 and takes place in the Bushtops Conservancy. Predators are often more active as they prepare for a night of hunting, Hyenas and Jackal may fight over a Lion kill. The drive will stop off at a scenic vantage point and you will sip on refreshing sundowners as the sun paints the sky in reds and oranges as it sets.
Hot Air Balloon Safari
This safari activity has an early start. You will be picked up at the lodge and driven to the launch site. Just before dawn the balloon will take off and drift above the savannah as the morning light floods across it. Scattered below will be hundreds of thousands of Wildebeest during the Great Migration, herds of Elephant and Giraffe. The flight usually lasts an hour and will be followed by a Champagne breakfast out in the heart of the bush.
Bush walks in the Mara
Experience the African savannah on foot on a game walk in the private conservancy in the company of a ranger and a Masai tracker. Get close to herds of Impala and Zebra. They will teach you how to track animals and explain how the local flora is used by the local tribes to survive in the bush.
Weddings at Mara Bushtops Camp
The Mara Bushtops Camp is a wonderful setting for a wedding or honeymoon. Say your vows surrounded by the majesty and sounds of the Mara. The lodge has a wedding coordinator who will take care of all the details from the documentation to the decor, a Maasai Dance, the wedding cake, flowers and a photographer to ensure that you enjoy the bush wedding of your dreams.
